S7 Diabetic complications 2 :
Diabetic brain and extremities On-Air Channel A
16:20~18:20 / Friday 18 September
Chairman:Hyun Shik Son, Yeon-Ah Sung
Overview
Diabetes markedly increases the risk of cerebral and peripheral atherosclerosis. In addition to that, until a cure for diabetes is found, hypoglycemia will continue to be a major barrier to the achievement of long-term glucose control and will cause recurrent morbidity in individuals with diabetes. This session ‘Diabetic Brain and Extremities’ could help prepare to implement appropriate medical and interventional treatments to reduce the disability and death of diabetic patients.

Chairman:Jeong Taek Woo, Chang Beom Lee
Overview
Current epidemiology research for diabetes has not only presented simple statistics, but has been developed to be used as an evidence for personalized diabetes care in connection with basic, translational research in various fields such as artificial intelligence and multi-omics. In this session, we will introduce the results of cutting-edge research on personalized diabetes treatment conducted based on major diabetes epidemiology data for Koreans.
